VSO has recently seen an increase in requests for tourism specialists in countries including Guyana and Malawi.
Roles generally range from one to two years. You’ll have a degree in tourism or tourism management and at least three years’ experience of tourism development plans at a regional or national level. You’ll have excellent project management skills and demonstrable communications skills through your experience of working with a wide variety of stakeholders.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll work with local and national tourism boards and sometimes tourism operators. Together you’ll develop tourism and eco-tourism markets by developing and implementing strategic tourism and specific tourism initiatives. Working to develop skills within these organisations, you’ll assess and develop new markets, marketing plans and materials.
