How to remember VSO in your Will

Any gift to VSO will make a difference to the lives of poor communities across the world.

There are two main ways to leave a gift in your Will to VSO:

The first is by leaving a residuary legacy. This is a share or percentage of the residue of your estate after all other gifts to friends and family have been made. This means your gift will keep in line with inflation, so it has the value you originally intended for the gift to have.

If you would like to leave this type of gift to VSO, we suggest the following wording:

“I give [enter percentage] percent of my residuary estate to VSO, 100 London Road, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, KT2 6QJ UK (registered Charity No 313757) to be used by VSO for its general purposes, and I direct that the receipt of the Hon Treasurer or other duly authorised officer shall be sufficient discharge of the said legacy”

The second way to remember VSO in your Will is by leaving a pecuniary legacy, or cash sum. We suggest the following wording:

“I give [amount] to VSO, 100 London Road, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, KT2 6QJ UK (registered Charity No 313757) to be used by VSO for its general purposes, and I direct that the receipt of the Hon Treasurer or other duly authorised officer shall be sufficient discharge of the said legacy”
