This gentle but rewarding Trek will take you from the amazing Pindaya Cave shrine where for centuries thousands of Buddha images have been placed inside the hill, through the unspoilt tribal highlands of the Shan hills to Lake Inle, one of Burma’s most memorable sights. You will pass through lush jungle, working farmland and quiet villages. On arrival at Lake Inle, you will witness the Lake’s fishermen and their unique way of fishing, a method that has been used for many generations.
The finale of the trip is to visit Bagan, Burma’s most unforgettable sight and a highlight of Southeast Asia. The wonderful temples and pagodas of this 11th-century kingdom will leave you in amazement and awe.
We hope to spend our last day visiting a VSO project firsthand, meeting VSO volunteers and seeing how your involvement with VSO is really making a difference to those living in extreme poverty.
