World Bank
VSO has worked with the World Bank in countries including Mongolia, Papua New Guinea and The Gambia.
Together with the World Bank and partners in The Gambia we are Improving Agricultural Productivity and Grower Associations promoting long term, sustainable agribusiness.
It promotes long-term, sustainable agribusiness among micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in the country to improve the incomes and food security of farmers and the communities they live in. This programme directly supports the World Bank Growth and Competitiveness Project.
We are doing this by enhancing the capacity of horticultural associations and institutions, increasing production and processing of high quality product which is in line with domestic and international market needs.
As the population is experiencing high unemployment rates we are paying particular attention to enhancing the skills and income of youth aged from 15 – 35.
