VSO Learning Centre, Birmingham
The VSO Learning Centre is part of our volunteer training centre in Harborne, Birmingham. It is a self-service reference library. The resources here are used by VSO volunteers that are attending preparatory courses for self-briefing before they go overseas.
Online catalogue
The VSO Online Catalogue contains information about resources on development. Some are in electronic format and available to all; they are produced or recommended by volunteers and staff, together with images and 'volunteer stories' from volunteers in their placements. Others are physical resources available to our volunteers and staff but you still might be interested in them as bibliography.
The Volzone
We have also developed The Volzone which is a password-protected area of our website for VSO volunteers. The Volzone contains essential information for volunteers, both at the pre-departure stage and in their placements, as well as providing access to online volunteer message boards.
Ongoing development of this will make it a global resource for all our volunteers worldwide. To view the Volzone you will need to be a selected volunteer and have been given a username and password.
